House Braemer
Oranjezicht, Cape Town

House Braemer is a well beloved and very special residential project to the Urban Concepts team. Tucked away in the quiet leafy suburbs of the City Bowl, this project represents the embodiment of a 10 year long dream of our company director to design and build a forever home for her family.

Nested at the foot of Table Mountain, this project involved the redesign of an existing house to embrace and capture views of Lions Head, Signal Hill and the expansive Boland mountain range in the distance. The strongest gestures of this are the carefully framed clerestory corner windows, capturing views of Table Mountain and Devil’s Peak that would otherwise have been lost. This allows the building to open up, heightening the connection to nature whilst respecting the privacy of the family.

We are excited and proud to finally see this project nearing completion.
